Description
Robert Crumb Original Art Sketchbook (c. 1964). A hardback Record Journal book measuring approximately 5" x 8" served as one of Robert Crumb's sketchbooks during his pre-fame days in Cleveland. Only fourteen pages have illustrations, but all are nicely detailed ink drawings. Included in the book is a four-page (plus a title page) illustrated poem, "The Moonlight March"; drawings of folk singers Judy Collins and Joan Baez; "Chad Mitchell Speaks His Mind"; a three-pager on Muzak; "What Sort of Man Reads Playboy?", and a two-page spread, "Every Street's a Boulevard in Old New York" with a nice view of the city skyline. The book has some minor wear on the covers, but the pages are in Excellent condition. A rare peek at an enormously growing talent!More information about Robert Crumb.
