Robert Crumb - Original Art for Greeting Card (1965). This mock-up was drawn and hand-colored by Robert Crumb in 1965, during his days as a creator of greeting card art. An interesting piece, Crumb inked the linework on acetate which was laid over a piece of 4" x 9.25" bristol paper which was hand-painted in watercolor. The inside is also hand-drawn in Crumb's individualistic style on a sheet of acetate and says: "why don't you come up and seize me sometime". This piece includes the original color notations for the printer and an O.K. from the legal department on the back. Also included is a hand-drawn caricature of someone named John Gibbons (possibly a fellow co-worker of Crumb's) and a drawing of Crumb himself as a bespectacled long-necked bird. A unique early Crumb collectable.
