Robert Crumb Flakey Foont Large-Scale Sketch Original Art (1970). An essential component of Crumb's arsenal of Underground Comix characters: Nerdy Everyman Flakey Foont, eternally in search of the Meaning or Life or something kind of like it. This spontaneous piece (executed on the fly, without a pencilled framework) captures Foont in his usual quandary: "What th'," indeed... The medium is the 1960s Tokyo Stationery Co. felt-wick marker, descended from the Rosenthal Magic Marker of the 1950s. No fading, no ink-bleeding, but moderate creasing and spot-staining in the bond paper, with an image area of 10.5" x 10". Otherwise in Excellent condition.
