Oscar Cesare Mixed Lot of Conceptual Sketches Original Art (c. 1920s-30s). The Saturday Evening Post's great caricaturist and political satirist, Cesare, must have generated several sketches for every finished, published piece. This thick stack of about 50 of his original concepts and a few prints represents something of a diary in loose-leaf form -- many of the drawings masterful in their own right. Architectural and human figures predominate. Some are severely creased, as if from wadding. Others are gloriously intact. Graphite on various forms of paper stock, notably vellum. Image areas range from approximately 5" x 7" to 10" x 15". Very Good to Excellent condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.
