    Description

John Severin - Letter Group with Color Sketch Envelope Original Art (1941-42). A young John Severin sent these two letters to his school friend Colin Dawkins, who would go on to work with Severin on the later issues of Two-Fisted Tales, where they created the character of Ruby Ed Coffey. The first letter has a couple of small pen and ink drawings on the back of page one (of two), and the front of the envelope is completely filled with a scene of "Marines in Action - Somewhere in W. Hemisphere. The letter (with address and stamp on the flapped side) is dated September 18, 1941. The second letter is one double-sided page, the envelope is postmarked June 7, 1941, and features a great Civil War scene on the front side (which was addressed and postmarked). Both envelope drawings are in ink and watercolor, and both are in Very Good condition.
