John Romita Sr. Frankenstein Concept Sketch Original Art (Marvel, c. 1973). The Monster of Frankenstein as conceived by Marvel master, John Romita Sr. in graphite and red pencil on bristol. As Marvel's art director, Romita was instructed to make the monster dissimilar to the famous Universal Pictures' version, which he accomplished magnificently. Includes a Roy Thomas notation at the bottom right, presumably addressed to Mike Ploog: "Mike, This is the version Stan wants to use... please call me to discuss." The art measures 10" x 15". Aside from some light soiling, a diagonal crease at the upper right, and a small tear at the bottom center (all outside of the image area), the art is in Very Good condition.
