    Description

Jack Kirby Boy Commandos Model Sheet Original Art (DC, c. 1947-49). Here's an amazing little piece of history! It's Jack Kirby's original model sheet for the Boy Commandos. It features multiple poses for Rip, Brooklyn, Andre, and Tex. Tex was introduced in issue #22 (July of 1947), and the line-up remained the same until Andre left in issue #35 (September of 1949). So that helps us narrow down a date for this model sheet. This is some of the earliest Kirby pencil work ever offered for sale. The graphite artwork was originally on illustration board, but the top layer has been pulled off, leaving a ragged backside. Measures approximately 14" x 21". There are many tears in the edges, and corners missing. It is very tanned and brittle with some small stains in places. Overall in Fair condition.
