    Description

Gus Mager & Others Francis Greeley Collection Sketches Original Art Group of 7 (c. 1930s). Francis Greeley accumulated hundreds of original sketchbook drawings -- many of them, sufficiently detailed to qualify as illustrations -- in a project that lasted well into the 1950s. A preference for cartoon art is evident in this batch of finery, which includes the artistry (inscribed) of Frank Fogarty (Clarence), George Stuffy (Bonzo the Pup), R.B. Fuller (Oaky Doaks), Gus Mager (Oliver's Adventures), Norman Marsh (Dan Dunn, Secret Operative #46), and Bill Holman (Smokey Stover). Mixed media on uniform note-pad stock. Image area, 6" x 9.5". Light toning, with the occasional ink-smudge. Excellent condition.
