Gilbert Shelton Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Sketch Original Art (1973). Here they are, in all their glory -- Freewheelin' Franklin, Phineas, and Fat Freddy -- known collectively as the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers! Artist Gilbert Shelton has been compared to Hergé (the artist responsible for Tintin, and one of the most popular cartoonists in the world) for his elaborate plotlines and attention to detail, and the Freak Brothers comic books have been runaway best sellers in "head" shops (and beyond) for many years. This specialty piece, originally presented to noted Underground lawyer Albert Morse, was done in markers, with lightly penciled numbers done to indicate color for publication. The art is on bristol, with an image area of approximately 7.5" x 5.25", and is in Very Good condition. Also included are mailing envelopes from Morse, which suggests this piece was used to establish copyright on the design. From the Albert Morse, Esq. Collection.
