    Description

Gary Panter "Pee-wee Herman" Sketchbook Original Art (c. 2005-06). The secret word for today is "Revival!" Scream real loud, Pee-wee fans, because the man-child with the bow tie has been planning a comeback for years. Gary Panter, Emmy Award-winning "house artist" for the 1980s Pee-wee's Playhouse TV series, filled this 5.5" x 8.5" sketchbook with page after page of ideas, rough drawings, and concepts relating to Pee-wee. The first page is dated June 1, 2005, and last date we could find is November 1, 2006. Practically all sketches are in ink, a few with added color marker. The book itself is beginning to fall apart from use, and a good many of the pages are now loose, but other than that, the book is for the most part in Excellent condition. There are 42 sheets with art and/or writing on both sides; nine sheets with art or writing on one side only, and 26 sheets (42 pages) that are hand-numbered but with no art or writing. There is also a full page of Pee-wee images drawn on the inside back cover. The rumor mill has been rife for some time with news about an upcoming Pee-wee movie, and reruns of the old series have popped up on Netflix, so now may well be the time for that "revival." Scream real loud!
