    Description

Frank Frazetta - Original Color Prelim for "Pony Tail" (1968). This small preliminary color sketch was created by Frank Frazetta for the cover to Pony Tail, written by L. Sprague de Camp, which was published by Paperback Library in 1968. Interestingly, the colors of the finished oil painting are a completely different color scheme, showing the changes that Frazetta made to produce the final work. Although relatively small in size, this spectacular color comp is packed with details, with stance and figures worked out as they appear in the final painting. This piece measures an overall 4.5" x 6" with a 2.75" x 4" image area. Signed by Frank Frazetta. Provenance: The Alexander Gallery.
