    Description

Chris Bachalo - Original Poster Art of Death (1992). Neil Gaiman's perky, teen-aged Death is portrayed here by Chris Bachalo, the artist most closely identified with her. This haunting 9" x 15" illustration on a sheet of 11" x 17" bristol board is a beauty. Far from the creepy, black hooded Grim Reaper we are all so familiar with, Gaiman and Bachalo's version wears a black jacket, black tank top, and her trademark ankh. Bachalo's drawing is a frantic pastiche of ink, white paint, and collage. The background pattern and the symbols below it are paste-ups. Signed by Chris Bachalo at the bottom right.
