    Description

Billy DeBeck - "Charlie Himself" Sketch Original Art (1927). Barney Google got off to a slow start, but within a few years, the strip suddenly took off with the introduction of the race horse named Spark Plug. The strip's creator, Billy DeBeck, created this portrait of an individual named "Charlie," and included his famous horse at the bottom left. Created in colored pencil and graphite, the art has an image area of 10" x7.5". There is some overall aging, and some staining; otherwise the condition is Good. Signed by Billy DeBeck himself at the lower left.
