Sal Buscema and Sam Grainger Avengers #69 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1969). The Avengers (Thor, the Vision, Goliath II [Clint Barton], Captain America, Yellowjacket and the Wasp, and Black Panther) take on Kang and the Growing Man on this exciting Silver Age classic! The 9.75" x 15" image area was rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board, then trimmed to the image area and affixed with glue and tape (in the top left) to a larger World Color Bristol board backing. There is a slit in the board along the top and left side edges where the original art was trimmed, and the back of the backing board has other score marks from previously being used as a cutting mat (but none of those go through). There is a notation at the top to shoot this down to 90%, which was done, as you can see more space on the left side in the published work. It also appears that somewhere between this piece and the published cover an alteration was made to Goliath's leg to keep him from "kicking" the caption box. The piece has glue residue all the way around and into the image area in several places, notably at the bottom. Overall toning, and in Good condition. Comes with a copy of the comic book.

More Information: EDIT: Information was added explaining "90%" note at top of art, and that Goliath's leg was altered after this original art was created but before the published cover.
