Ross Andru and Mike Esposito Batman #213 "Origin of Robin" Complete 12 Page Story Original Art (DC, 1969). This is the Silver Age re-telling of Robin's origin. The only full origin story ever published before this was his first appearance in Detective Comics #38 (1940). By 1969, all of the rest of the major DC characters had their origin story re-told and slightly tweaked to bring it up to then current day standards. There were minor changes in Robin's story as well... Dick hears about the protection money after his parents' death, not before... the reason the name "Robin" was picked is explained... and a version of the Robin costume had been worn by Bruce years before. This origin story would stand for many years as it was not re-told (and re-tweaked) again until Dick's New Teen Titan years in Secret Origins #13. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". There are many pinholes in the top margins of these pages. Some corners are trimmed, all pages are 2-hole punched in the top and bottom. Some tanning on all pages, but more so on the first page around the edges. In Very Good condition.
