Ron Embleton Finding Out Magazine Vol-16 #1 "Battle of Crecy" Illustration Original Art (Purnell and Sons, 1966). Most-known in the US for his work on the Penthouse adult comic strip "Oh, Wicked Wanda", Ron Embleton had previously built a large body of work in the UK providing covers and interior illustrations for publications such as Look and Learn, and World of Wonder. He also created the stunning illustrations that ran in the closing credits of the TV series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. This lush and highly detailed piece is simply dripping with gorgeous gouache paint color work. It ran as a two-page illustration on pages 22-23 in the UK magazine Finding Out Vol 16 #1, and was collected in the 1968 hardcover Book of Battles. The piece features a great sepia-toned spot illustration to the left of the color work on the same 25.5" x 16.5" illustration board. The spot illustration was used on the title page of the hardcover edition. The main image area measures approximately 24.5" x 10" total. There is a bit of production tape residue, and a tape-pull abrasion in the upper left and lower far right area of the color image section. With some other minor board imperfections in the blank areas, light toning and dust shadows, and soft corner bumps. Signed "RSE" in the lower right of the color section. The art is in Very Good condition overall; however, it will display in better condition as it has such high eye-appeal.
