Description
Robert Williams "Regal Rez" Painting Original Art (c. 2005). Robert Williams is one of the most original artists working today. From his roots as one of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's top artists to his mind-blowing comic art as featured in Zap Comix, to his truly bizarre LSD-tinged original paintings, Williams has created a body of work like no other. This incredible "Lowbrow" painting virtually defies description, like some logic-bending fever dream that cannot be explained but somehow seems to make sense. Like Salvador Dali before him, Williams' art twists reality into a world all its own. The painting is in acrylics on board with varnish, and has an image area measuring 23.75" x 19.75". It's housed in a metal frame (without glass), and is in Excellent condition. While we assume Williams has given the painting a longer name, "Regal Rez" is written on the back of the frame. The artist is the subject of a recent documentary (Robert Williams: Mr. Bitchin' ), currently available on DVD.Auction Info
