Robert Crumb Your Hytone Comix Complete 8-Page Story Original Art (Apex Novelties, 1971). The saga of Horny Harriet Hotpants, the girl that likes to "do it," and her encounter with two Snoid characters, is a strange, dark story with sex -- lots of sex, including the most twisted "orgy" scene ever, with poor Harriet mobbed by dozens of Snoids. It ends with Harriet's "wedding ceremony" (with Jesus Christ), as Reverend Snoid says, "I now pronounce you dead -- er -- I mean man 'n' wife!" Whew! Your Hytone Comix marked the beginning of a dark time for Crumb as well, with his marriage to Dana on the rocks, and the onslaught of hangers-on and pushy promoters driving him out of California and on the road. Soon, he would leave Dana for Aline Kominski, and his life would be forever changed. Art for this story is in ink over light graphite on sketchbook paper, with an average per-page image size of 8" x 12". Very Good condition with moderate handling wear in the outer borders. From the Eric Sack Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
