Robert Crumb Weirdo #22 Cover Original Art (Last Gasp, 1988). This is the first published Robert Crumb Weirdo cover we have ever offered! And what a cover it is, too! First off, this was the Memorial Issue for fellow underground comix artist Dori Seda. Secondly, that intricate hyper-detailed border (featuring a crazy and unhappy Crumb-style orgy scene) was a tribute to early issues of EC's MAD Magazine (#24-30). The "Crumb sweat" on the character is as much a stylistic trademark of his work as the crosshatching. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 15.5", matted to 19.5" x 22.5". Signed and dated in the lower right image area and in Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
