Robert Crumb There's No Business Cover Preliminary Original Art and Color Overlay Group of 2 (Black Sparrow Press, 1984). These original-art/mechanical pieces are Crumb's building-blocks of the cover for author Charles Bukowski's tale of a born-loser stand-up comedian struggling through a wrecked career. The color piece contains the layered plates, including painted hand-lettering. The B&W piece is a diagram of figure and logotype placement, in outline. No other comics letterer/logotype artist can match Crumb for showy, concise design. Ink, paint samples, and white retouching on thin composition paper, accompanied by reproduction proof. Dimensions, approximately 11" x 13". Very Good condition, with wrinkling.
