    Description

Robert Crumb There's No Business Cover Original Art (Black Sparrow Press, 1984). Crumb captures to perfection author Charles Bukowski's depiction of a born-loser stand-up comedian struggling through the final desperate stages of a wrecked career. The wealth of economical detail is astonishing -- complete with a starburst, as if to suggest glamour and celebrity in contrast to the character's overriding misery. Nor is there another comics letterer/logotype artist who can match Crumb for showy, concise design. Ink, white paint, and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board. Dimensions, 10.25" x 12.25". Slight toning, staining along left edge, rippling, discolored Zip film, with light handling wear. Signed by Crumb at lower right. Very Good condition.
