DescriptionRobert Crumb The People's Comics Complete 4-Page Story Original Art (Golden Gate Publishing Company, 1972). In "The R. Crumb $uck$e$$ Story", we see a fanciful account of the artist as a spoiled "bigshot" in his huge studio (something akin to the huge 1940s Fleischer Brothers Animation building in Florida) who later finds himself in a world where he must become just another worker in the fields. Crumb gets caught with his pants down at the end, though, "hopeless case" that he is! A really wild slice o' Crumb imagination from his most popular period, where the first tastes of success had to have been tempting to this iconoclastic artist. The story is drawn in ink on Bristol board, with an average per-page image area measuring 8" x 12". "I think Robert Crumb is a genius" says Graham Nash, who has held on to these pages for many years. We hardily concur, Mr. Nash! Minor handling wear; Excellent condition. From the Graham Nash Collection.
