Robert Crumb Despair "It's Really Too Bad" Page 5 Original Art (Print Mint, 1969). Time to get deep with R. Crumb, as he examines the inequalities and grim realities that make up our everyday lives -- heavy stuff, man! This is the final page of the story that kicks off Crumb's most thought-provoking solo comic (at least this story, "It's Really Too Bad" -- the rest of the comic does take a lighter tone). It's a classic, iconic page from one of the most important cartoonists of the late 20th century. The art is in ink on paper, with an approximate image area of 8" x 12". The second panel was taped in from the reverse; there is some paper tanning and the upper left corner of the border area is missing (well away from the image area); otherwise Very Good condition. There's a bonus sketch of a cat, drawn in ink and graphite, on the reverse.
