Robert Crumb Chimpin' the Blues Album Cover Color Guide Original Art (East River Records, 2013). Underground Comix master Robert Crumb depicts himself and a fellow record collector, Jerry Zolten, in the process of discussing their shared interest in jazz and blues. This is a print that was hand-colored by R. Crumb and shot as original production art for the album cover; this is Crumb's usual way of adding color and preparing art for commercial reproduction of his black and white originals. The record album (and CD) itself contains a fun mixture of conversation (aka "chimpin') and 1920s blues records by such artists as Cannon's Jug Stompers and Geeshie Wiley. Art is watercolor on a paper print of line art with an approximate image size of 12.5" x 12.5", and is hand-signed by Crumb. Minor handling wear. Fine condition.
