Robert Crumb Big Ass Comics #2 1-Page Story Original Art (Rip Off Press, 1971). R. Crumb lays in on the line to his (many) female critics in "And Now, A Word to You Feminist Women." It's true that many were offended by Crumb's "no holds-barred" sexually-charged comics, chief among them fellow Underground cartoonist Trina Robbins, who was very vocal in her opposition back in the day. And, if truth be told, this kind of material would be hard to get published in today's far more Politically Correct world. But the charm of Crumb's 1960s-early '70s work was in large part due to that anything-goes attitude that shocked the senses while tickling the funnybone, and, let's be honest -- most of Crumb's fans were male (and a good many of them stoned at the time). For you Crumb fans that can handle it, this is a fantastic page, with ol' RC himself in almost ever panel (and a Snoid thrown in for good measure). The art is in ink on paper with an image area of 8" x 12.25", and numbered as Page 22 at the bottom. The paper is lightly toned and in Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
