    Philippe Delaby Murena Tome 4 « Ceux qui vont mourir... » Planche 43 (Dargaud, 2002). Le titre de ce quatrième album de la série renvoie au salut des gladiateurs à l'Empereur avant leur combat : « Ave, Caesar, morituri te salutant » (Salut, César, ceux qui vont mourir te saluent). Cette superbe planche réalisée à l'encre de Chine, toute en symétrie, est centrée sur le personnage de Poppée en majesté. La saga fait revivre des personnalités de l'Antiquité telles que le poète Pétrone, Acté, la favorite de Néron, et ici, la perfide Poppée et l'Empereur. Cette planche de 48 x 36,5 cm est en parfait état.

The title of this fourth album in the series refers to the the gladiators' salute to the Emperor before their fight: "Ave, Caesar, morituri te salutant." ("Hail, Caesar, those who are about to die salute you.") This beautiful page is centered on the character of Poppaea in her majesty. The saga brings to life figures from Antiquity such as the poet Petronus, Actus, the favorite of Nero, and here, the perfidious Poppaea and the Emperor. In ink on board with an image area of 13" x 17.25. In Excellent condition.
