DescriptionPaul von Klieben "John Selvidge" Gun Shop Illustration Original Art (1946). The Gun Shop was built on Market Street in Ghost Town, in 1946. It was copied form a building in Angel Camp, a well-known camp in Mother Lode country back in the 1850s. This is a rare graphite, Conte crayon, and pastel drawing of the the Gun Shop's owner, John Selvidge (1808-1885), from the hand of Mr. Paul von Klieben. The portrait is on paper measuring 28" x 20", with an image area of 16". Paper has water damage on the bottom border, nowhere near the artwork. Minor handling and edge wear. The art is signed by von Klieben, the man who single-handedly applied Walter Knott's vision to Ghost Town. Good condition.
