Wally Wood Woodwork Gazette #2 "The End" Title Page 1 Original Art (Wood, 1978). This magnificent page, filled with hallmarked Wally Wood fantasy art, hails from a controversial story in a troubled part of Wood's career. As noted in The Wallace Wood Index, the second section of the Woodwork Gazette #2 featured "the original and complete 12-page story first published in an altered, rewritten form in Warren Publishing's magazine 1984 (as the 6-page story "Quick Cut" rewritten by Bill DuBay). In Gazette #1, Wood commented on Warren 'cutting up the originals and otherwise defacing them, and hired some degenerate to rewrite them. And gave me credit for writing it!' Wood kept stats and used them to publish the Gazette edition." The restored story also appeared in Eclipse Comic's World of Wood #2 (colored by Steve Oliff), and was published in the official, Wood Estate' authorized, The Wizard King Trilogy vol 2 (Vanguard, 2007). This masterwork from late in Wood's brilliant career has an overall size of 14.5" x 23", and aside from some glue stains in the captions, the art is in Very Good condition.
