DescriptionWally Wood The Spirit Section "A D. P. (Displaced Person) on the Moon" page 3 Original Art, dated 8-10-52 (Des Moines Register and Tribune Syndicate, 1952). Wally Wood set the mood and back story for this sci-fi thriller with a flashback, as a South American military leader, Rivera, and Colonel Gomez prepare for their trip to the Moon. From the lettering corrections that have slipped off the page, it seems the text, as originally written by Jules Feiffer, revealed that these characters were Nazis, but later the story was edited by Will Eisner to eliminate those references. This is a stunning piece of artwork by one of the comic field's all-time greats, Wally Wood, at the height of his artistic powers. This page has an image area of 13" x 18", and aside from a few missing lettering corrections, the art is in Excellent condition.
