Description

Vaughn Bode - Cobalt 60 Panel Page Original Art, Group of 3 (1968). Vaughn Bode's Cobalt 60 takes place in a post-apocalyptic, Mad Max-like world inhabited by mutants, aliens and other fantastic creatures. Its grim, masked hero, Cobalt 60, embarks on a quest to avenge the death of his parents, murdered by the evil Strontium-90. These three pages (page 1, title page 3, and page 8) are from Bode's very first Cobalt 60 story, created before his better-known Cheech Wizard comics. This story eventually saw print in Bill Pearson's witzend #7, in 1970; years later, the saga was continued by Vaughn's son Mark. These pages were drawn in ink on 8.5" x 11" paper, which was later attached to illustration board measuring 10.5" x 13". All three pages are in Excellent condition. Finding any of these early pages is a miracle in itself; here's a chance to pick up three incredible pages from a legendary artist who left this mortal coil far too soon.
