DescriptionTrevor Von Eeden and Frank Springer Black Lightning #1 Story Page 13 Original Art (DC, 1977). One of the most powerful and striking pages in the entire issue! Take note of Peter Gambi's appearance on this page. The CW Network did a great job of casting James Remar in the role on the TV series Black Lightning. It's a great resemblance. Also of note, the top edge of this page is stamped "M. Waldinger". So it's possible that Morris Waldinger helped with the inks or lettering. The page was created in several pieces and assembled into regular comic book art format. Some parts were trimmed and moved around before publication. More detailed notes on this are available at HA.com. All art is ink over graphite on Bristol board. The boards are toned, with a couple of stains and some production tape holding things in place. Overall in Very Good condition.
The student and the basketball goal are one piece of art, trimmed to the art edges, placed on top of the black background art, when was then taped into a hole trimmed into DC Bristol board next to the four panels on the right. Peter's word balloon in Panel 3 was trimmed out and moved up, with an original art patch added from the reverse side to cover the hole this left.
