DescriptionSupermouse, the Big Cheese, Summer Holiday Issue #1 Story Page 12 Original Art (Pines Comics, 1957). Lively shenanigans in the Northern Wastelands with Sniffy the Pup and a grouchy tomcat. The artist's name is undocumented, but the credited writer is cartoonist-gagman Jack Mendelsohn, who would break out during the 1960s as creator of the comic strip Jacky's Diary and as a key contributor to the Beatles' cartoon feature, Yellow Submarine. The principal art is in ink, with only sketchy pencilling in graphite and non-repro blue, rendered on a toothy sheet of Bristol board. Image area, 12" x 18". Excellent condition.
