Description

Steve Ditko The Amazing Spider-Man #32 Spider-Man vs. Doctor Octopus page Original Art (Marvel, 1966). It is a widely held belief in comic art circles that the three-part story arc running from Amazing Spider-Man #31-33 represents Steve Ditko's peak on his famed run -- as well as one of the artist's absolute greatest moments, as his Spider-Man art is an undisputed masterpiece. Heck, in many minds, this tale rivals the Silver Surfer/Dr. Doom epic in Fantastic Four #57-#60 as the best Silver Age Marvel storyline ever! We know that many advanced collectors have been biding their time for the perfect Ditko Spidey page -- well, wait no more, True Believers, as this is it -- an all out battle sequence with Doctor Octopus, one of the greatest villains of all time. Such a perfect example of Ditko's pacing, characterization, and artistic mastery is extremely rare, and this beauty from "Man on a Rampage" has been locked away in a single collection for decades. It is reported that the other two issues of this storyline -- issues #31 and 33 -- have remained complete, in private collections, so getting any page from the storyline is a coup -- and this one is an absolute masterpiece. This Marvel masterwork has an image area of 12.5" x 18", and aside from some glue residue in the upper border (outside of the image area), it is in Excellent condition.
