Description

Steve Ditko - Original Art for Showcase #73, page 14 (DC, 1968). With a Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!, DC premieres a character with a different rhythm... yellow-skinned, red-furred anti-hero, The Creeper. Steve Ditko's baby boy, a.k.a. TV newsman Jack Ryder, debuted in this issue of Showcase #73 in 1968. That tryout won him his own title, Beware the Creeper, which ran for 6 issues in 1968-69. This early appearance of the infamous weirdo is extremely clean and well-kept, with some slight aging apparent and some blue line editorial markings scattered randomly throughout. The overall art size is 10.5" x 16.25" with a 10" x 15" image area. There are four holes punched in all four corners, which were used to prepare the art for printing.
