Steve Ditko Amazing Spider-Man #12 "Unmasked by Doctor Octopus" Page 14 Original Art (Marvel, 1964). Excelsior. You could hardly ask for a more action-packed Spider-Man vs. Doctor Octopus showdown than this "twice-up" thriller. In this early Marvel classic, Peter has the 24-hour flu when Doc Ock captures Betty Brant in hopes of luring Spider-Man into battle. As all True Believers know, Ock beats the under-the-weather web-head and unmasks him -- but everyone mistakenly believes Peter is just trying to be brave by impersonating Spidey. Once the wall-crawler has recovered, he battles through the wild animals Doc Ock has released from the zoo, to take on old six-arms himself. Stan "The Man" Lee and "Sturdy" Steve Ditko are showcased at their best for swinging' sixties melee. This ASM masterwork has an image area of 12" x 18", and aside from a glue stain in panel one left behind by a missing pasted-on lettering correction, the art is in Very Good condition.
