    Description

Sid Greene Mystery In Space #77 Story Page 3 Original Art (DC Comics, 1962). Mystery in Space is one of the most significant precursors of the superhero revival -- a science-fiction title whose launching in 1951 pointed toward the SF orientation of editor Julius Schwartz' revamps of Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, etc., from the mid-'50s and onward. Into the 1960s, Mystery in Space continued to feature free-standing SF shorts while emphasizing such additional Schwartz-shop heroes as Adam Strange and the Star Rovers. This sequence defines the tone of a Rovers story called "Where Was I Born -- Venus? Mars? Jupiter?" with art by the great Sid Greene, better known as an inker of others' work, in excellent shape here as a turn-key artist. Twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 19" (counting the stat paste-up header). The board is faintly toned and in Excellent condition.
