Russ Manning Magnus, Robot Fighter #1 Story Page 13 Original Art (Gold Key, 1963). From his first issue and self-titled origin story, this page features Magnus smashing a robot as Leeja Clane watches from her flying car. Also of note, they later seek the "very lowest level" of the city. That area of the city would factor in greatly during the Valiant Comics reboot in the 1990s, as the Goph Lev. One of the things that made this series stick in the minds of fans was Manning's incredible future-designs for cars and robots. Very unique and stylized. There is a stamp on the back that indicates this page once belonged to super-fan Jerry Bails. This page was crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18". It is matted to 18.5" x 24.5". The page is toned with some whiteout art corrections in places. Overall in Very Good condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
