    Description

Ross Andru and Mike Esposito Star Spangled War Stories #103 Story Page 9 G.I. Robot Original Art (DC, 1962). A great shot of Joe the G.I. Robot fills Panel 1 in only his third appearance. This page has the scene that inspired the cover image. Of note: 1) This is the second-earliest known "War That Time Forgot" page, 2) This and the previously sold Page 8 are the only twice-up scale pages from this series we have ever seen, and 3) this issue was also the very first use of the phrase "Dinosaur Island". The twice-up scale page was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13.25" x 19" (including the paste-up stat header). There is a small rip in the paste-up page header; otherwise, in Excellent condition.
