Robert Crumb Snatch Comics #1 Title Page 3 and 34 Original Art (Apex Novelties, 1968). Fans of R. Crumb's more overtly sexual comics from the late 1960s will have a field day with this offering -- two wild pages from the first issue of Snatch Comics, including the first inside title page, drawn on a single piece of bristol! Anyone who has spent time looking for choice Crumb art to add to his (or her) collection knows these types of pages don't come our way often, so take full advantage of this rare situation! One of Crumb's "Humorama"-type gag pages ("Excuse Me!") is paired with the funny (if disturbing) inside front cover piece, which is noted, "Snatch Comics -- the only high-grade sex comic!" Powerful stuff! One page is signed, which is unusual for any of the Snatch pages (Crumb usually preferred a pseudonym like "R. Scum"). This peak period underground masterpiece was acquired by the consignor directly from legendary publisher Don Donahue, and has never been offered publicly. The art, done in ink on bristol, has a combined image area of approximately 9.5" x 7", and is matted and framed to an overall 15.5" x 12.5". In Excellent condition.
