Robert Crumb Kafka For Beginners (R. Crumb's Kafka) Page 98 Original Art (Totem Books, 1993). Post-war Prague's German-speaking citizens find themselves on the receiving end of bitter hatred from the Czech-speaking majority, especially German Jews. This page, illustrated by Robert Crumb, shows the infamous public burning of ancient Hebrew manuscripts, "right under the nose of the Golem." Two panels in ink and graphite on blue-lined Bristol board, with an approximate combined image area of 6.25" x 9.25", matted and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 15.5" x 19.25". Signed by Crumb in the lower right corner.
