Robert Crumb Kafka For Beginners (R. Crumb's Kafka) Page 142 Original Art (Totem Books, 1993). The existential horror of the weird and creepy aspects of modern life, particularly those generated by the bureaucracy, are now often routinely described as "Kafkaesque." The adjective is instantly understood by any who have read the unsettling stories by the haunted soul who inspired it. "Wasn't there a tale about a guy who turned into a cockroach?" Franz Kafka's eerie work has been described by some as "like the Twilight Zone -- only European." This chiller, drawn in ink and graphite on blue-lined Bristol board with pasted-on phototype captions, has an approximate image area of 6" x 9.5", and an overall size of 9" x 12.5". The art is in Excellent condition, and it's signed in its lower margin.
