DescriptionRobert Crumb American Splendor #5 1-Page Comic Story "Mr. Boats' Miracle Cure" Original Art (Harvey Pekar, 1980). Harvey's sinus troubles get an assist from a co-worker, in this poignant one-pager that actually served as the back cover for the fifth issue of American Splendor. Harvey Pekar's long-time pal R. Crumb did a number of AS pages during the seventies and early eighties; this is one of Crumb's final stories for the series, a great one page "slice of life" tale written by Pekar. The ink on paper art has an image area of approximately 8" x 12", matted to an overall 14" x 24". This page was included in the Smithsonian traveling comic show, "Great American Comics: 100 Years of Cartoon Art", and includes a sheet of heavy foamcore with the original identification tag for this piece. The art is in Excellent condition.
