Description

Neal Adams, Tom Palmer, and Alan Weiss Avengers #96 Story Page 12 Original Art (Marvel, 1972). From Part 8 of the Kree-Skrull War epic saga! Many fans count the Kree-Skrull War as the greatest Avengers story ever told. From the episode titled "The Andromeda Swarm", this page features Captain Mar-Vell in communion with the Omni-Wave (or is he?), while Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are captives of the shape-changing Skrull! The last panel features Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, and the Vision. Elements of the Kree-Skrull War story would come back to haunt the Marvel Universe in both the New Avengers: The Illuminati (2007), and the cross-company event Secret Invasion (2008). Note that Adams is credited as one of the inkers in addition to being the penciler. This classic page from the beginning of Marvel's Bronze Age was crafted in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The page is lightly toned, with some minor whiteout text corrections. Overall, in Excellent condition.
