Neal Adams and Frank Giacoia Green Lantern #77 Page 22 Original Art (DC, 1970). In "Journey to Desolation," Green Arrow, and the Old-Timer (a Guardian) come across the company town of Desolation, where the boss Slapper Soames plans to execute Johnny Walden to silence the songs he sings which have inspired the people of Desolation to think about a better way of life. As Green Lantern joins the townspeople in attacking Soames' stronghold, the Guardians inform him that since he is on a leave of absence they have reduced the power of his ring. Even weakened, Green Lantern and Green Arrow are able to free Johnny and turn Soames and his men over to the authorities. From one of the award-winning, trend-setting collection of "relevant" stories by writer Denny O'Neil and artist Neal Adams, the series was a huge critical hit due largely to Neal Adams' unparalleled ability to combine realistic contemporary illustration with traditional superheroic storytelling. This hard-hitting thriller has an image area of 10" x 15", and the art is in Excellent condition. Signed in the next-to-the-last panel.
