Neal Adams and Dick Giordano Brave and the Bold #80 "And Hellgrammite is His Name!" Page 13 Batman and the Creeper Original Art (DC, 1968). By this issue of The Brave and the Bold, Batman had become the anchor, in no small part because Neal Adams was the artist. Teamed with Batman in this issue was Steve Ditko's Creeper, from around the same time Beware the Creeper #3 was on the newsstands. Adams was one of the artists influential in returning Batman to a serious comic book character after his campy TV-era days, with clean lines and great action sequences. The Creeper himself was part of the new wave of heroes showing up in DC at that time, and Adams' interpretation of the quirky character enlivens this page. The art was produced in ink over graphite, on Bristol board, with an image area of 10" x 15". Signed by Giordano in the lower margin, the page is an overall cream color with production tape and production hole-punches in the top and bottom margins. In Very Good condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
