    Description

Neal Adams and Bill Draut The Phantom Stranger #4 Story Page 19 Original Art (DC Comics, 1969). Adams' mastery of extreme close-ups and angular cinematic viewpoints is well represented in this page featuring two of DC's weirder characters -- the ghostly Phantom Stranger and the ghost-busting Dr. Thirteen -- along with a creepy old woman. A flashback to the woman's younger days inspires a provocative period-piece drawing (lower tier), complete with a matched set of gargoyles. Brilliant stuff from a breakthrough period for Adams. Signed at lower margin. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Light toning. Excellent condition.
