DescriptionMoebius (Jean Giraud) Métal Hurlant #108 Story Page 26 Incal Original Art (Les Humanoides Associes, 1985). From the long-running series The Incal, this is the final page from the chapter "The Medusa Strategy" from The Incal Book 4 Ce Qui Est en Haut (What Is Above), which deals with the possible reunification of the Incal, a very significant part of the story arc. The Incal is an epic space opera blending fantastical intergalactic voyages, science, technology, political intrigue, conspiracies, messianism, mysticism, poetry, debauchery, love stories, and satire, written by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
Moebius was one of the founders of Métal Hurlant, which begat the US version Heavy Metal. The Incal series began in France, and was reprinted in the US in a series of graphic novels by Marvel/Epic. This page was also reprinted in The Incal Classic Collection Book 4 What is Above by Humanoids, Inc., in 2013.
This is a classic Moebius page with the gorgeous crisp, clean lines the artist is known for. Moebius Incal pages are highly sought after by collectors, and examples like this rarely come to market. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 15". In Excellent condition.
