DescriptionMagic Spectacles Original Art Group of 18 (undated). Offered here are 18 pages from a comic book adaptation of the obscure 1961 nudie film of the same name, in which a timid Hollywood advertising man discovers a set of spectacles (originally invented hundreds years of earlier by a Parisian scientist) which makes clothing transparent, thus putting a world of mostly naked women in his view. To facilitate this in the production of the story, each page (except one) of the artwork has a tracing paper overlay with the clothing drawn in, over the nude figures on the art pages. It is presumed this overlay would be produced as a color hold, which a pair of "Magic Spectacles" with a red film would make disappear for the reader. Ink and blue pencil on Bristol board, the image areas measure 8" x 12" and the art is in Very Good to Excellent condition.
