Julie Doucet Dirty Plotte (Purity Plotte) #10 "My New York Diary Part One" Title Page 3 Original Art (Drawn and Quarterly, 1996). Julie's personal narrative about relocating to the Big City in 1991, "My New York Diary" was originally serialized in her solo comic, Dirty Plotte (re-titled this issue as Purity Plotte), and later collected for a very popular graphic novel. The adventure begins here, as Julie is greeted by her boyfriend as she steps off the train from Canada. Julie's highly individual style is delightfully primitive but rich with detail -- check out all the litter on the platform! She's gone on to have a successful career outside comics now, but this may well be from her most enduring work to date. The page is in ink and Zipatone shading film on Bristol board; the top panel is a last-minute replacement, utilizing a bit of clip-art for the long train. Image area is 6.5" x 11". Excellent condition.
