Jon Jay Muth and Kent Williams - Original Art for Havok and Wolverine: Meltdown #3, pages 42 and 43, "Duel" (Marvel, 1989). In the realm of painted panel page art for major comic book publishing companies, two names will spring instantly to mind... Jon Muth and Kent Williams. These two major artists combined their immeasurable talents to produce this exceptional four-issue series for Marvel in 1989. Here is a double-page spread showing Havok and Wolverine in battle, with all the cinematic ferocity of a major motion picture. You get a front row view of the event, fully-painted in mixed media by two of the industry's most respected illustrators. This art, which has an overall size of 18" x 22", is actually three strips of illustration paper mounted onto illustration board. It also includes a black and white overlay indicating Havoc's power, which was created in the printing process. The art is very clean and bright and is signed by Kent Williams at the bottom left.
